Description
Listing is for a single 9mm4.3W NUBM08 455nm
laser diode
mounted in a large 25mm x 30mm copper module with thermal back half, leads and a DTR-G-8 glass lens.
This module is designed for easy mounting in a 25mm XYZ mount that you can purchase separately like this one.
SK-25 Bearing CNC Aluminum Rail Linear Motion Shaft Support Series Slide 25mm
This NUBM08 diode is capable of over 5W output when using a DTR-G-8 lens and 4A current with proper heatsinking.
Save yourself the headache of pressing and soldering. Just add a laser driver limiting the current to 4A or less.
Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery. You must use a laser driver limited to no more than 4.5A to power this diode.

Yep this is the new DTR-G-8 Lens. See lens comparison on the testing thread over on the forums here.

The new stock lens looks to be a shorter focal length lens.
I will add more details as I get time to test them. The divergence from first glance seems the same as the NUBM44.
The diode has a pretty hard knee at 5A. I think 4A will be the sweet spot for this diode. It is bluer than the NUBM44 but not nearly as blue as the NUBM07. In the middle
maybe
a little closer to the NUBM44 but that bump in wavelength will give it a pretty serious bump in visibility.
